Manufacturing Process:

Manufactured using the finest Zealand Green Lipped Mussels (Perna canaliculus) Mussels are shucked into mussel meat, de-fatted and crushed into slurry. Mussels are then poured into trays and frozen within 24 hours. Frozen mussel slurry trays are freeze dried into a dry biscuit. Super critical fluid extraction is applied to remove the surface lipids (3-4%) The final process is to mill into a powder. No heat or steaming is used during manufacturing.This assures that nutrient levels are not destroyed. This is the norm when manufacturing GLMP, although some companies do try to use this as a selling point.

New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) and all mussel powder exported is accompanied by an Export Certificate issued by NZFSA.

According to a study published in the Journal of Nutrition in 2002, the weight of the pet is the biggest consideration to determine dosage of green lipped mussel powder.

How much green lipped mussel dosage for a cat, dog horse or elephant?

Here’s a general dosage guide but this can be doubled if required.

1 x Level 1ml plastic scoop will give approx 0.5g enough for an anmial weighing upto15kg.

2 x Level 1mi plastic scoops will give approx 1g enough for an animal weighing upto 30kg

1 x Level 30ml plastic scoop will give approx 15g enough for an animal weighing 450kg
